The Viking Alruna offers cruises along the Rhine River. The ship is great for Adults who love food, wine, culture, and Scandinavian design! Floor-to-ceiling windows are everywhere, giving guests a spectacular view of the castles and villages as you cruise by. One of the newer Longships, guests will find 95 comfortable outside staterooms and suites that feature two rooms with a veranda off the living room and French balcony off the bedroom.
The ship features the Aquavit Terrace which transforms between an indoor and outdoor dining venue, depending on the weather. You will enjoy regional foods on-board as well as various cultural programs.
The ship is named after the daughter of Kjárr of Valland, Alruna. She was one of three Valkyries according to lore that spinned linen on the shore of Wolf Lake. Alruna fell in love with Egil, who spotted her spinning, lived together for seven winters, until Alruna flew off to battle, never to return.
